Riverstone Healthcare Partners Ltd commits to achieving net-zero greenhouse-gas emissions by 2050. We will progressively reduce emissions associated with our operations and work with suppliers and partners to address relevant emissions across our value chain, while protecting safe, effective, and person-centred care.
Practical Action
We already use Birdie electronic care management, supporting digital records and reducing reliance on paper. We will build on this through proportionate environmental measures integrated into service planning and everyday decisions.
Our priorities are locality-based rostering and efficient journey planning; remote meetings where suitable; energy-efficient use of premises and equipment; reduced printing and unnecessary purchasing; responsible reuse, recycling and disposal; and consideration of suppliers’ environmental practices. Changes must remain compatible with accessibility, infection prevention, staff safety and continuity of care.
Measuring Progress
Within 12 months of approval, we will establish a documented emissions baseline covering direct operational emissions, purchased energy and relevant indirect emissions, corresponding to Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 sources. We will identify data gaps and use a consistent, appropriate methodology rather than claim reductions without supporting information.
The baseline will inform a prioritised reduction programme and interim milestones. We will review both total emissions and relevant service-activity measures, so that business growth does not obscure the underlying position. No quantified reduction or carbon-neutral status is claimed in this statement.
Accountability and Improvement
Evan Kureya, Operations Director, will be accountable for implementing this commitment, supported by service managers, staff and relevant advisers. Environmental actions will have named owners and proportionate review arrangements.
We will review progress at least annually, update priorities and make a concise progress update publicly available. Staff feedback, supplier engagement and operational learning will inform improvement. We will prioritise reducing emissions before considering how to address residual emissions that cannot practicably be eliminated.

Publication and Scope
This commitment is intended for publication on Riverstone’s website once approved by a director. It is a statement of organisational intent and planned action, not a claim that a full procurement-standard Carbon Reduction Plan, verified emissions inventory or independently assured reduction pathway has already been completed.
